Candlestick Park
This stadium was located within view of San Francisco Bay, with winds and blustery weather often attributed to it. The ballpark started out with an open outfield and lower bleachers, but was later enclosed with outfield upper deck in the early 1970’s. One of the most dramatic endings of a World Series occurred there in 1962, when the Giants Willie McCovey hit a two out, screaming line drive directly at the second baseman, with a winning runner in scoring position, to end the game and season.
