Jarry Park
On Montreal’s north end, it was built to attract a Minor League team in 1960, as a baseball field in a public park. By 1969, it was upgraded for MLB, with the expansion Expos. The ballpark was single decked, with unroofed grandstand. Spring baseball had occasional snow. It had deeper symmetrical dimensions. A swimming pool beyond right field was a splash landing for long homeruns, such as Willie Stargell’s famous 495 foot blast in 1969.
