Polo Grounds
The ballpark was located in one of the five boroughs of New York City, Manhattan, under a rocky bluff and near subway stations. Bathtub shaped, it had short foul lines and deep centerfield. Between the two seating levels, apartment buildings were visible. It was the stage for one of the most famous walk-off homeruns. In October 1951, the Giants Bobby Thomson hit a two out, game ending homerun in the tie-breaker series, to complete a comeback for the National League pennant.
