Roosevelt Stadium

This Jersey City ballpark had mid 20,000’s capacity, with art-deco features & outfield symmetry. Sandy Koufax described it as windy & Rickey Henderson as big, with dim lighting. The Brooklyn Dodgers played 15 games there in 1956 & 57, briefly introducing the stadium into MLB. Other sports that took place inside were football, boxing, & soccer. It had an active musical concert schedule in the 1970’s and by that time, some concertgoers described it as having dusty interior.
